Asco Motors proudly announces the launch of the new Yamaha Centre located at the Royal Suva Yacht Club in Walu Bay, about 5 minutes from the Suva city centre. Located on the water’s edge, the new Yamaha Centre will be a retail outlet for Asco Motors’ marine products. Available at the Yamaha Centre is all the usual quality Yamaha products including outboard motors, generator sets, Yamaha parts and accessories. In addition, servicing of outboard motors, repairs and maintenance are also available from the site.
The new Yamaha Centre provides a platform where Asco Motors can market Yamaha products, parts, accessories and servicing to the central division.
Chief Executive Officer Mr Ian McLean says, “The new Yamaha Centre enables us to directly market our marine products and accessories to the many boat and owners who are members of the Royal Suva Yacht Club.” The Royal Suva Yacht Club has been existence since 1932 and is the largest boating port in Suva with 60% of members utilising Yamaha outboard motors in their yachts or fishing boats stationed at the club.
Fiji also has a growing small to medium fishing industry with the local fishermen passing through the yacht club every day of the week. The new Yamaha Centre is expected to draw a good share of these fishermen to the outlet for servicing and maintenance. It will be much easier for fishermen to haul their punts into the outlet for quick service than to visit Asco Motors Nabua head office.
National Fixed Operations Manager Richard Rahiman says, “Every year we invest a lot of money in going out to the islands and surrounding fishing areas for service clinics. This is conducted annually and fishermen and boat owners will wait for these annual clinics. With this centre opening, fishermen and boat owners can come to us anytime in the year for any of their needs albeit servicing or repairing or installing parts. So it is now a more convenient option for them.”
The new Yamaha Centre was officially opened by outgoing CEO Mr Ian McLean and function was attended by local corporates, Royal Suva Yacht Club members, media and staff of Asco Motors.
