Asco Motors continues to produce the goods.
Asco Motors continues to produce high performing apprentices who go on and become very competent tradesmen. Recently congratulating seven of its finest, seven apprentices who recently received their apprenticeship and course work certificates from the Training Productivity Authority of Fiji. Their journey started four years ago and culminated in their ensuing graduation. The organisation’s participation in the Apprenticeship Scheme has seen some high achievers progress through the system and become senior members of its leadership.
Training Productivity Authority of Fiji Manager Apprenticeship Training Mr Faitaki Panapasa says, “We at TPAF are confident that the apprentices who graduated this year will follow the same track and be worthy contributors to the Vision of Asco Motors. Our best wishes to the 2010 graduates for a long successful association with Asco and just one plea from TPAF; showcase your talents and profession by being the best in your trades and as tradesmen that the company can depend upon to produce the required and the expected, when requested to.”
Of the seven apprentice graduates, four are mechanics, two panel beaters, one fitting and machining from the Ba, Labasa, Nadi and Suva branches. Two of the apprentices received Certificates of Merit, Nadi’s Stayam Krishant Narayan and Labasa’s Mohammed Razeel.
Asco Motors Ba Branch’s Alvin Ashneel Kumar took out the Best Apprentice Mechanic award. Standing tall amongst his peers and amongst the TPAF graduates, Alvin was awarded the 1st Runner Up for the Overall Best Apprentice of 2010. Kumar who has been with Asco Motors since 2006, developed a passion for vehicles, cars earlier on in his life and loved how cars work. This passion turned into a profession for Alvin. Never one to complain, Alvin finds much pleasure in coming to work each day and believes each day offers new insights and opportunities to learn. He sometimes finds handling customer issues and complaints a bit challenging but finding appropriate solutions to these issues always bring a bright smile on the face of his many customers.
Regional Learning & Development Manager Ms Ranju Kumar says, “Having this many apprentices graduate with flying colours is a testament to the focus and priority the company gives to the apprenticeship programme and having Alvin take out the overall mechanic award is just so rewarding not just for him as an individual but for us the trainers, the supervisors, for everyone involved. I also would like to thank the supervisors in Arthur Breckterfield, Maika Moce, Ravin, Manasa Nete and Jarnadhan Chetty in guiding these boys.”
